Flute

Karen is a great flute instructor. She approaches each student individually, working on exactly what that person needs. Her speciality is teaching Woodwind Doublers. Many professional musicians need help with the flute. Many are at their wits end. Musicianship, improvasation, reading, harmony and such are already well implemented in their playing and Karen knows this. Doublers need help with the flute itself.

Karen teaches how to have a good embouchure, correct flute fingrings, tone projection, note articulation, and a natural vibrato. She covers the whole flute, from low B or C to Double C#.

Karen also teaches beginning through advance flute in jazz and classical.

Saxophone and Clarinet

Norbert offers instruction covering the basics through advanced techniques of music. His knowledge of jazz harmony and theory is taught very systematically. He helps with the development of your own style as an improviser.

We work with your schedule: a one time lesson for direction, once a week, biweekly, monthly, or whatever.

Our musician's network includes specialists in every style of music from everywhere in the world, including traditional ethnic traditions from Africa, India, the Middle-East, China, Cuba, Spain, Eastern Europe, and Australia.
We can supply musicians and overdub multi-track sessions onto your basic tracks at Purple Room Productions onto ADAT, Logic Audio Platinum, or Protools, then send you back the completed tape or digital audio files on CD. We can also email the Logic file for you to preview.

String and Horn Section Arrangments
Music Conception and Composition

Instrumentals and songs with lyrics are prepared CD ready or demo-ready for all styles and genres. Songs and compositions are written to your specifications.
Clear and legible lead sheets are prepared containing the melody and lyrics, chord progressions, bass lines, and rhythm information.
Arrangements include the score and individual parts, transposed when neccessary for each instrument and voice.
CD, DAT, or cassette tape of the song are prepared using a MIDI sequence or live musicians, playing all of the parts with or without the lead and background vocals or lead instrument.
Also available is a multi-track recording on ADAT or digital audio files recorded using Logic Audio Platinum or ProTools.
